General Weather Overview

The climate in Baise can be described as humid subtropical, strongly influenced by monsoons. There is practically no severe cold here, and even in the winter months, the temperature rarely drops to low values, remaining at a comfortable level of around 13–15°C. This makes the city an attractive destination for those looking to avoid frost and enjoy mild weather at any time of the year.

Seasonality is quite clearly defined: summer here is hot and humid, with average temperatures reaching 28–31°C. It is during the summer period, from June to August, that the peak of rainfall occurs — rains can happen very frequently, refreshing the air after the midday heat. Winter, by contrast, is drier in terms of precipitation, although overcast days still occur regularly. Spring and autumn serve as pleasant transition periods with moderate warmth.

A characteristic feature of the weather in Baise is high humidity and a significant number of rainy days, especially during the warm season. Travellers should be prepared for variable cloudiness and always keep an umbrella handy, even if the sun is shining in the morning. Thanks to the abundance of moisture and warmth, the nature of the region is distinguished by lush and vibrant greenery all year round.

Temperature

Climatic conditions in Baise are characterised by the absence of extreme cold and a prevalence of warm weather throughout the year. The coldest period falls in December and January, when the average air temperature is about 13°C, and night-time readings rarely drop below +9°C. This makes winter here very mild and comfortable for travellers avoiding freezing temperatures. Conversely, the hottest month is traditionally July, with an average temperature of 27.9°C and daily highs exceeding 31°C.

The summer season in the city is long and quite hot. From June to August, daytime temperatures consistently hold at the 30–31°C mark, while nights remain very warm (around 24°C). Considering the large number of days with precipitation during this period (up to 24 days per month), summer feels humid and sultry. Spring and autumn bring pleasant relief: for example, in April and October, the air warms up to a comfortable 22–25°C during the day, creating ideal conditions for walks.

Daily temperature fluctuations in Baise are moderately pronounced. The difference between the daily maximum and nightly minimum is usually between 4 to 8 degrees. This means one should not expect sharp temperature jumps during the day: after a hot summer day comes a warm night, and in the winter months, a cool morning smoothly gives way to the mild warmth of the afternoon.

Precipitation

Precipitation in Baise is distributed unevenly throughout the year, clearly marking the change of seasons. The greatest rain activity is observed during the summer period, which can be called a full-fledged wet season. Thanks to the warm climate, snow here is an extremely rare phenomenon, so rain remains the main type of precipitation all year round.

The rainiest months are June, July, and August. At this time, the frequency of precipitation reaches its peak: statistics show that it can rain for up to 23–24 days per month. Travellers planning a trip in summer should be prepared for frequent but warm downpours and must definitely carry an umbrella or raincoat.

A relatively dry season begins in late autumn and lasts until the beginning of winter. The lowest number of rainy days is usually recorded in December and November (about 10–12 days). However, even in winter months such as January and February, precipitation cannot be completely ruled out — it falls less frequently and in smaller volumes than in summer, but still remains part of the local climate.

What to Pack

The climate in Baise is characterised by a hot and humid summer, so for a trip from May to September, choose light, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics. Given that in the summer months the temperature often exceeds 30°C and the number of rainy days is at its maximum, be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a reliable raincoat or umbrella. Humidity is high during this period, so quick-drying items will be very useful.

Winter and the off-season are quite mild here, but evenings and nights can be cool. From November to March, when the night temperature drops to 9–10°C, the best strategy is the principle of layering. Pack comfortable trousers, long-sleeved t-shirts, a warm jumper or fleece jacket, as well as a light coat. This will allow you to react flexibly to weather changes throughout the day.

Regardless of the time of year, to comfortably explore the city and its surroundings, you will need comfortable walking shoes. Since even in the "dry" months the number of days with precipitation remains significant (from 10 to 15 days), give preference to waterproof trainers or boots. Also, do not forget a personal first aid kit and insect repellent if you plan on nature walks during the warm season.
