The Tourujoki Nature Trail is a stunning green corridor located in the heart of Jyväskylä. This short walking route, approximately 700 meters long and also known as Heikin polku, winds through the territory of the nature reserve of the same name. It offers a rare opportunity to instantly swap the cityscape for a lush broadleaf forest.

The main feature of the trail lies in its flora, which is unique for this part of the country. Thanks to the humid microclimate of the river valley, thick ferns, horsetails, and rare wildflowers grow here, creating the feeling of being in a pristine jungle. All this beauty is located in Finland, a country where nature and urbanism coexist in close and harmonious contact.
The route is equipped with comfortable wooden boardwalks and information boards that explain the ecology of the water bodies and the history of the region. It is the perfect "oasis of silence," where the sound of the river drowns out the noise of cars, and deadwood covered in emerald moss serves as a home for many songbirds and insects.
