The Fier Gorges (Gorges du Fier) is an impressive natural wonder located very close to the picturesque city of Annecy in France. This narrow and deep canyon was carved over centuries by the mighty Fier River, whose name translates to "Proud." The river originates from the famous Lake Annecy and carries its waters toward the Rhône, creating this unique geological formation along its path.

The main attraction for tourists at the gorge is the breathtaking suspended footbridge. It is anchored directly to the rock wall at a height of about 25 meters above the churning river below. The route is 600 meters long, offering visitors a unique opportunity to be in the heart of the canyon and admire its rugged beauty from a safe distance.
The gorge itself is striking in its scale: its average depth reaches approximately 70 meters. It was formed as meltwater from a glacier gradually cut its way through the soft rock. Today, the Fier Gorges attract travelers not only for their scenic views but also for the chance to touch the ancient history of the Earth, etched into its stone walls.
