The camp is not just a place of residence, but a true center for the care, training, and treatment of these giants. Here, the elephants live in conditions close to their natural habitat, receiving a specially selected diet and professional veterinary care. Every aspect of their life is designed to ensure the well-being and health of these revered animals.
Each elephant in the camp has its own dedicated mahout (handler), who is fully responsible for their charge. Mahouts bathe, feed, and train the elephants daily, building a special relationship of trust with them. The Punnathur Kotta grounds are well-equipped with spacious enclosures, special ponds for bathing, feeding zones, and training areas where visitors can observe the daily lives of these amazing creatures.
