What to Do

The main adventure at the park is a visit to the giant walk-in aviary. Here, you'll encounter over 40 species of exotic birds from all over the world: from majestic macaws and playful cockatoos to graceful ostriches and vibrant Amazons. The birds here are accustomed to people, giving guests the rare opportunity to feed them by hand and take stunning photos in a natural setting.

The park is skillfully divided into five thematic zones inspired by ancient Indian landscapes: mountains, forests, farmlands, coasts, and arid lands. Besides the birds, be sure to check out the local aquarium featuring rare fish species and the koi pond. The park also houses rabbits, pheasants, ducks, and even some reptiles, turning your stroll into a complete introduction to the animal kingdom.

For those seeking additional entertainment, Trichy Bird Park features a modern 7D mini-theater and a 50-seat outdoor cinema. Families with children will especially enjoy the play area and a special mini-train. After a busy walk, you can relax in a cozy cafe or unwind in massage chairs while enjoying the tranquility of this amazing place.

History & Facts

Although this facility is very young, its creation holds deep significance. The project was realized under the unique "Namakku Naame Thittam" initiative, which translates to "Our property for ourselves." This program aims to actively involve local communities in urban infrastructure development. The foundation stone for the future park was laid in 2023 by the Minister for Municipal Administration, K. N. Nehru.

The official opening took place on February 9, 2025. The grand ceremony was led by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in the presence of high-ranking Tamil Nadu state officials. This modern project, costing 186 million rupees, has become a long-awaited gift for the region's residents, combining government efforts with the community's desire for high-quality recreational spaces.

The park's design concept deserves special attention. Its layout is intentional, drawing inspiration from ancient Tamil Sangam literature. The territory is divided into five zones, each symbolizing a specific landscape type of ancient Tamil Nadu. Thus, the park serves both an entertainment and an important educational mission, reminding visitors of India's rich cultural and ecological heritage.

Time Needed

A leisurely walk through all five thematic zones and meeting the inhabitants of the aviary usually takes about 2–3 hours. This is plenty of time to explore the main exhibits and take photos with the exotic birds.

If you plan to visit the 7D theater, stop by the local cafe, let the children play in the designated area, and simply enjoy the atmosphere by the riverbank, we recommend setting aside 3 to 4 hours. This approach will allow you to get the most out of your visit without any unnecessary rush.

Working Hours

Trichy Bird Park welcomes guests daily. The doors of this amazing space are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with no days off or breaks. The schedule remains the same throughout the week, including Saturdays and Sundays.

As the park is a popular and relatively new attraction, it is recommended to check for updated information on official city resources before your trip, especially during public holidays.
