Picturesque Pantelleria, located in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, is distinguished by a mild climate that makes it attractive to visit almost all year round. The island, territorially belonging to Italy, is located closer to the African coast, which leaves a mark on its weather conditions: a long sunny summer and a warm but windy winter prevail here.
The best time for a beach holiday is the period from June to September. During these months, the average air temperature holds at 22–26°C, and the water warms up to its maximum. A feature of the local summer is the almost complete absence of precipitation: in June, July, and August, rain is an exceptional rarity, guaranteeing clear sunny days.
The shoulder season is excellent for excursions and trekking. In May and October, the air warms up to a comfortable 18–21°C. Winter on the island is very mild: even in the coldest months, January and February, the temperature rarely drops below 13°C. However, it is worth noting that late autumn and early winter are the wettest times of the year; for example, the highest number of rainy days is recorded in November.
