The climate in Ageo is classified as humid subtropical, which is typical for the Kanto region of Japan. The annual temperature cycle in Ageo is characterized by a pronounced range. The hottest period is July and August, when average daily highs consistently stay around +30°C to +31°C. Snow is rare in this region and usually does not stay on the ground for long, turning into a light frost. Spring brings a gradual increase in humidity, starting with moderate rains in March that help wake up the famous Japanese gardens.

When packing for a trip to Ageo, consider the season and don't forget about the high humidity. For a summer visit (June–August), lightweight cotton or linen clothing, sunscreen, and a hat are ideal choices.
