At the intersection of a busy avenue and street in the city of Astana stands the majestic Bogenbay Batyr Monument — one of the most significant historical and cultural landmarks that Kazakhstan takes pride in. This monumental work is dedicated to the legendary commander who became a symbol of courage and the unwavering will of the people in their struggle for freedom.

The eleven-meter composition, cast in bronze, is striking in its dynamism: the fearless batyr is captured on horseback, his hand raised in a rallying gesture, and his gaze fixed into the distance, as if he still guards the peace of his native land today. The sculpture is mounted on a massive granite pedestal, emphasizing the solemnity and significance of the national hero's legacy.
The project was designed by the well-known capital sculptor Tokhtar Ermekov. Unveiled on July 6, 2007, the monument quickly became an integral part of the urban landscape. The small, cozy square surrounding it is perfect for quiet strolls, creating an atmosphere of historical reverence amidst the rhythm of a modern metropolis.
