The dry season, which lasts from May to October, is considered the most comfortable time for a visit. During this period, the rains practically cease, and the sky delights with cloudless blue. The temperature becomes slightly milder and more pleasant for excursions, staying in the range of +24–26°C, allowing you to enjoy nature and the beaches without exhausting heat.

The climate in this region is distinguished by enviable stability and warmth throughout the year. Antsiranana welcomes travellers with high temperatures that rarely drop below comfortable values. The hottest period falls at the end of the year and the beginning of the next: in November and December, thermometers often exceed the 30°C mark during the day. At this time, which corresponds to the local summer, the air warms up to the maximum, creating an atmosphere of true tropical heat.

The conditional "winter", lasting from June to September, brings only a slight decrease in temperatures, making the weather milder and more pleasant for active leisure. During these months, especially in July and August, the average temperature holds at the level of 24–25°C. During the day, the air comfortably warms up to 27–28°C, which is ideal for excursions and beach relaxation without the sweltering heat characteristic of the summer season.

Daily temperature fluctuations here are smooth and predictable. The difference between the daily maximum and the nightly minimum is usually about 5–7 degrees. Even on the coolest nights of July and August, the temperature rarely drops below 20–21°C, so you will hardly need warm clothes. Such a steady temperature regime allows you to enjoy travelling around the north of Madagascar at any time of day.

If your trip falls during the wet season from December to March, be prepared for high humidity and frequent precipitation: the number of rainy days in this period is at its maximum. A light raincoat, quick-drying clothes, and waterproof shoes will become indispensable companions. In the dry season (from May to October), there is practically no rain, but the sun is very active, so be sure to take high-quality sunscreen with a high SPF factor, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.

Despite the general heat, a light windbreaker or a long-sleeved top would not go amiss for evening walks by the ocean, especially considering that the region is known for its winds.
