This establishment in Mexico harmoniously combines the elegance of a nightclub with the sophistication of a gastro-bar. Thanks to its location on a rocky elevation and its massive panoramic windows, the club creates a sense of total immersion in nature while providing the highest level of acoustics for true connoisseurs of the genre.

The main concept of Jazz on the Rocks is built on a trinity: live music, Mediterranean cuisine, and signature mixology. What to Do

The highlight of the evening at the club is the live jazz concerts. The musical program usually starts at 7:00 PM and continues until 9:15 PM, featuring performances by both talented local artists and international jazz stars. Legends such as Stevie Wonder have been spotted on this stage, underscoring the high status of the venue.

Gourmets should pay attention to the menu by Chef Hector Morales. Here, Mediterranean dishes are served with a signature twist, perfectly complemented by innovative cocktails. The bar menu is curated by the famous mixologist Tiziano Tasso, who turns the preparation of each drink into a small performance show.

Beyond the music and food, visitors come here for the aesthetic pleasure of the panoramic view of the bay. It is one of the best places in the city to watch the sun dip into the Pacific Ocean, painting the rocks in golden hues. Please note that a smart-casual dress code is in effect: beachwear is not welcome here, which emphasizes the club's respectable atmosphere.

Getting There

The jazz club is conveniently located on the Transpeninsular Highway (Carretera Transpeninsular) at the 6.5-kilometer mark in the Misiones del Cabo area of Cabo San Lucas. The establishment is situated on the upper level of the famous Sunset Monalisa restaurant, and entry is through the Misiones residential complex.

If you are traveling from Los Cabos International Airport, the journey is approximately 30 kilometers. The fastest and most comfortable way to get here is by taxi, a private transfer from your hotel, or a rental car. For guests arriving by private vehicle, a convenient valet parking service is available, saving you the trouble of finding a spot on the busy coast.

Public transport in this area is limited, so tourists from the city center are recommended to call an official taxi or use popular ride-sharing services. The trip from the main marina takes no more than 10–15 minutes, offering picturesque ocean views along the way.

History & Facts

The history of Jazz on the Rocks began quite recently—in October 2020. The establishment became the first specialized jazz club in the Los Cabos region. The project was initiated by Giammarco Vela, CEO of Grupo Monalisa, who aimed to fill the niche for high-end cultural leisure and provide a stage for talented jazz performers.

The first official concert took place on October 15, 2020, featuring the renowned jazz diva Daline Jones and virtuoso pianist Diego Ramirez. This event set a high bar for the quality of live performances, which the club maintains today under the guidance of musical director Tito Rodriguez.

Interestingly, the club was one of the few establishments in the region to receive the Clean Point certificate. This confirms strict compliance with international hygiene and safety standards, which was particularly important during the opening period. Today, Jazz on the Rocks is considered an important cultural hub that helps position Cabo San Lucas not just as a "sun and beach" resort, but as a center for refined art.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the atmosphere and music, we recommend planning your visit for 2 to 3 hours. This is enough time to leisurely enjoy signature cocktails, have dinner, and listen to the main live performance set.

Many guests prefer to arrive when it opens at 4:00 PM to catch the "golden hour" and take stunning photos against the sunset, then smoothly transition into the jazz set, which lasts until late evening. If you are only planning an evening cocktail to the accompaniment of jazz chords, an hour and a half will be quite sufficient.

Working Hours

The doors of Jazz on the Rocks are open to guests daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This allows you to arrive early to enjoy an aperitif in the rays of the setting sun before the main program begins.

Live performances usually take place at fixed times—from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM. We recommend checking the schedule for specific artists on the club's official website before your trip, as the program may change depending on the season or special events.
