The majestic Government Palace of Nuevo León is an architectural gem gracing the northern part of the famous Macroplaza in the heart of Monterrey. Built in a strict and elegant neoclassical style from unique pink stone, this building is one of the most recognizable symbols that Mexico takes pride in.
The construction of the palace was carried out under the guidance of engineer Francisco Beltrán at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Its facade impresses with slender Corinthian columns and bronze sculptural groups, while the building is crowned by a triumphant figure of Victory. Inside, five cozy inner courtyards (patios) with red granite arcades and magnificent stained glass windows depicting prominent historical figures of the region await visitors.
Today, it is not just the residence of the state governor, but also a living history museum (Museo del Palacio). The palace is open to everyone, offering guests the chance to explore the cultural heritage of Nuevo León for free. Thanks to its high level of accessibility and family-friendly atmosphere, it is rightly considered a must-visit point on every tourist's itinerary.
