The summer months (from December to March) delight with pleasant warmth and daytime temperatures around 20–23°C. Winter (from June to August) is very mild: during the day the air warms up to 19–20°C, although nights become more bracing and cool, with temperatures dropping to 10–11°C.

The main feature of the local weather is exceptional dryness. Precipitation in Luderitz is an extremely rare phenomenon; rain may occur literally once or twice in an entire year, predominantly in the winter period. Thanks to this, tourists can confidently count on the absence of rain and stable weather conditions during almost any month of their planned trip.

The climate in Luderitz is distinguished by amazing mildness and stability, making the city comfortable to visit at any time of the year. Unlike many other regions of Namibia, extreme heat rarely occurs here, thanks to the influence of the ocean. The warmest period falls on January and February: at this time the average air temperature is around 20°C, and daytime highs reach a pleasant 23–24°C. This "summer" can be described as moderately warm and dry, ideally suited for long walks and sightseeing without the risk of overheating.

The winter months (June, July, and August) bring only insignificant cooling, so one should not expect a harsh winter here. The coolest month usually becomes August with an average temperature of around 14–15°C. However, even during this period, the air warms up to 19–20°C during the day, which feels quite comfortable. The main difference of winter is the cooler nights, when the thermometer can drop to 10–11°C, so travellers are recommended to have warm clothing with them for the evening time.

It is also worth noting the diurnal temperature fluctuations that are characteristic of this desert coast. The difference between the daily maximum and nightly minimum is consistently about 7–9 degrees throughout the year. Such an amplitude ensures freshness in the evenings even after the sunniest days. Thanks to the almost complete absence of precipitation and the moderate temperature regime, the weather in Luderitz remains predictable and favourable for tourists all year round.

Luderitz is distinguished by an exceptionally arid climate, characteristic of the harsh coast of the Namib Desert. Precipitation here is an extremely rare, one might say, exceptional phenomenon. For the greater part of the year, the city remains absolutely dry, and the probability of getting caught in real rain tends towards zero. This makes the destination predictable for travellers who prefer clear weather without surprises.

From January to May, as well as from August to December, the number of rainy days is also equal to zero. The concept of a "rainy season" in the usual sense does not exist here; instead, a practically year-round dry season reigns in Namibia.

The only insignificant humidity fluctuations are observed in the winter months of the Southern Hemisphere. In June and July, statistics record from 1 to 2 "wet" days, although the volume of precipitation still remains minimal. Most often, this moisture manifests not in the form of full-blown downpours, but as dense morning fogs or light oceanic drizzle, which quickly dissipates under the sun.

The climate in Luderitz is quite mild and arid, so the best strategy when packing your suitcase is the principle of layering. Even in the warmest months (January and February), the temperature rarely rises above +24°C, and constant Atlantic winds can create a feeling of coolness. Be sure to take a high-quality windbreaker or a windproof jacket with a hood — this will be the most important element of your wardrobe for protection against wind gusts while walking along the coast.

For evening outings and early mornings, especially if your trip falls during the winter period (from June to August), when the temperature can drop to +10°C, a warm sweater, fleece jacket, and long trousers will come in handy. Since precipitation here is an exceptional and extremely rare phenomenon, you will hardly need an umbrella or raincoat. However, comfortable closed footwear is simply necessary: reliable trainers or light trekking boots are ideally suited for walking on rocky terrain and visiting the famous ghost town of Kolmanskop, where there is a lot of sand.

Do not forget about protection from the sun, which is quite active in Namibia all year round, despite the moderate temperatures. Sunglasses, high SPF cream, and headwear should be on your list of things, however, ensure that your hat or cap fits tightly on your head so that it is not blown away by the wind. We also strongly recommend taking moisturising cream and lip balm, as the dry desert air combined with the salty sea breeze can quickly dry out the skin.
