Tourists should take this feature into account when planning a trip to Papua New Guinea. Even in the "driest" months, the probability of rain remains, so having an umbrella or a light raincoat will be useful. However, thanks to the warm climate, rains here do not bring cold, and the sun usually returns to the sky quickly.

The temperature regime in Port Moresby is distinguished by remarkable stability: eternal summer reigns here, and sharp seasonal changes are virtually unobserved. Throughout the year, the average air temperature fluctuates within a very narrow range — from 25.7°C to 27.2°C. The hottest period is traditionally the months from December to February, when daily maximums often exceed the 30°C mark, creating an atmosphere of true tropical heat.

The driest and most comfortable period for walking falls during the winter months of the Southern Hemisphere — from June to August.
