The climate in Mexico is classified as a tropical monsoon type, characterized by consistent heat and high humidity throughout the year. There are two distinct periods: the dry season, lasting from November to April, and the rainy season, which covers the months from May to October. The average annual temperature in this region of the Philippines stays around 27–28°C.

The city is located in a lowland area, which enhances the influence of oceanic monsoons and makes the air quite muggy even in relatively cooler months. A unique feature of the local climate is the absence of a distinct winter—the thermometer rarely drops below 23°C, providing travelers with an atmosphere of eternal summer.

The dry period is considered the ideal time to visit the city, as the sky is more often clear and precipitation is minimal. However, even during the rainy season, the tropical warmth allows you to enjoy your holiday despite periodic downpours.

The temperature regime in Mexico is remarkably consistent: throughout the year, the thermometer typically fluctuates between 23°C and 34°C. The hottest months are traditionally April and May, when daytime temperatures steadily reach 33–35°C. During this period, the sun is particularly active, and the air becomes warmest before the rainy season begins.

January and February bring relative coolness. During this time, average daytime highs are a comfortable 28–30°C, while the air cools down to 21–22°C at night. Nevertheless, due to high humidity, even these temperatures can feel quite hot. Daily temperature fluctuations are small and rarely exceed 7°C, which is normal for the tropics.

In the summer months, despite the abundance of rainfall, temperatures remain high—around 30–31°C during the day. The absence of frosts and sudden cold snaps makes the city's climate predictable, allowing tourists to count on stable warmth at any time of year.

Rainfall patterns in Mexico are dictated by the changing monsoons. The bulk of the rain falls between May and October, peaking in July, August, and September. During these months, rain can fall almost daily, often in the form of powerful short-lived downpours. Humidity levels during this time rise to 82–84%, and monthly rainfall can exceed 300 mm.

In contrast, the period from January to April is characterized by minimal moisture. The driest months are February and March, when the number of rainy days does not exceed five per month. During this time, the sky remains mostly clear or partly cloudy.

It is important to note that due to the tropical climate, there is a total absence of snow in this region. Rains during the monsoon season usually bring temporary relief from the heat, but because of the high temperature, evaporation occurs quickly, maintaining the sensation of a tropical steam room.

For a trip to Mexico, clothing made of natural fabrics such as cotton or linen is best—this will help your body "breathe" in the high tropical humidity. At any time of year, essential accessories include sunscreen with a high SPF, a hat, and high-quality sunglasses to protect against intense UV rays.

If your visit falls during the rainy season (May–October), be sure to bring a light raincoat or poncho, as well as quick-drying clothes and closed waterproof shoes. During the dry season, open sandals and comfortable sneakers for walking are useful. Regardless of the season, it’s worth bringing a light long-sleeved sweater to protect against the chill in rooms with powerful air conditioning, along with insect repellent.
