Although the volume is small, it falls frequently, so tourists should be prepared for changeable weather and carry an umbrella or raincoat.

Precipitation

In Wisła, precipitation is distributed fairly evenly throughout the year, so there is no clearly defined dry or rainy season. The difference in the amount of precipitation between the wettest and driest months is minimal. The main differences lie in the frequency and type of precipitation, which changes from snow in winter to rain in summer.

The winter period, from December to February, is characterized by frequent precipitation, which mostly falls as snow due to sub-zero temperatures. For example, in January, there are about 17 days with precipitation. In spring, the weather becomes slightly drier: March, April, and November see the lowest amount of precipitation (only 2 mm). However, in May, the number of rainy days increases again to 17, indicating the arrival of frequent spring rains.

Summer is the wettest time of year in terms of precipitation frequency. July is the month with the highest number of rainy days—an average of 18. This means that summer rains, while not always heavy, are a frequent occurrence. August and September are also quite wet, with 15 and 14 days of precipitation respectively. The driest month in terms of rain frequency is October, which averages only 12 days with precipitation, making it one of the most predictable and clear months to visit.

Packing Tips

When planning a trip to Wisła, it's important to choose your wardrobe carefully, as the weather here can be changeable and the number of days with precipitation remains high throughout the year. The main principle to follow is layering. In winter, from December to February, temperatures often drop below freezing, so a warm waterproof jacket, sweaters, thermal underwear, as well as a hat, gloves, and a scarf are essential. For the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn, when the weather is unpredictable, a combination of sweaters, a fleece jacket, and a windproof shell is ideal.

The summer months, from June to August, are usually warm, with temperatures above +20°C, allowing for light clothing. However, evenings can be cool, so it's worth bringing a jumper or a light jacket. Given that summer is one of the rainiest periods, a compact umbrella or raincoat will be an indispensable accessory. Regardless of the season, comfortable walking shoes are an absolute necessity for exploring the picturesque mountain trails. Also, don't forget sunscreen, which is useful not only in summer but also on sunny winter days.
