In the heart of the historic center of Ponce stands the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe—an architectural jewel and the spiritual center of the region. Located on the picturesque Plaza Las Delicias, this majestic temple is unique for being the only cathedral in Puerto Rico situated directly in the center of a city square, dividing it into two parts.

The cathedral building draws the eye with its elegant neoclassical facade, painted in soft blue and gray tones. Inside, visitors will find a harmonious blend of colonial and Gothic styles, complemented by exquisite stained-glass windows and a grand organ. The cathedral is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, highlighting its exceptional significance to the country's cultural heritage.
In addition to its religious role, the temple serves as an important architectural landmark. Its ornate square towers topped with crosses dominate the city skyline, and its proximity to the famous bright red fire station, Parque de Bombas, creates one of the most recognizable ensembles on the entire island.
