Arkadia Park is one of the historic leisure spots in Astrakhan, located on the picturesque Rozhdestvensky Hill. The park received its poetic name in honor of the legendary ancient Greek paradise gardens, which initially set the tone for the place as a corner of serenity and beauty. Today, it preserves the memory of past eras and attracts both locals and city guests interested in the history of Russia.

Arkadia was originally conceived and created by Konstantin Alexandrovich Polyakovich, a merchant of the second guild in Astrakhan, as a public garden for promenades. In its heyday, the park was a unique complex featuring elegant wooden buildings. The central element and the real gem of the park was the summer theater, built in the Neo-Russian style according to the design of architect Pavel Shkatelov with the participation of city architect Malakhovsky. It was a popular spot for the cultural leisure of city residents.
Unfortunately, little of the original historic appearance of Arkadia Park has survived to the present day. Most of the original buildings have been lost over time. However, the name, the atmosphere of the place, and the memories of the older generation of Astrakhan residents live on, making the park a significant point on the city map. For many, it remains a symbol of a bygone era and a place where you can touch the history of Astrakhan.
