General Weather Overview

The climate in which Beloyarsky is located can be described as sharply continental with subarctic features. This means the weather here is characterized by significant contrasts: winters are long and severe, while summers, though short, can be quite warm and comfortable. Travelers should take these features into account when planning their wardrobe, as the temperature regime changes drastically depending on the season.

The winter period is dominant here and lasts for most of the year. The coldest months are January and February, when the average temperature drops below -16°C, and night frosts often exceed the -20°C mark. Snow lies for a long time, and even in April, the air warms up slowly. Spring comes late, and stable warmth settles only by the end of May, when nature begins to revive rapidly.

Summer in this region of Russia is the most favourable time for tourism. July is considered the peak of the season with average highs of around +22°C, which allows you to enjoy walks without the exhausting heat often found in the Gulf region. However, the weather can be changeable: even in the warmest months, such as June and August, the number of rainy days remains noticeable. Autumn arrives quickly: already in September, the temperature drops noticeably, and October often brings the first signs of approaching winter.

Temperature

The climate in the city of Beloyarsky is distinguished by a severe northern character with distinct seasonality. Winter here is long and truly frosty, which is worth considering when planning a trip. The coldest month is traditionally January, when the average temperature drops to -19.2°C, and night readings often reach -22.2°C. December and February also keep the city in an icy embrace with average values around -15...-16°C, so high-quality warm equipment will become your main companion during a winter journey.

Summer brings long-awaited but moderate warmth, saving tourists from sweltering heat. The most favourable time for a visit is considered July: the average air temperature is a comfortable +17.4°C, and during the day the thermometer often rises to +22.3°C. These are ideal conditions for active recreation in nature, but it is worth remembering daily fluctuations: even at the height of summer, nights remain quite fresh, with temperatures around +12°C, so a light jacket in your luggage will not be superfluous.

Transitional seasons pass here quite rapidly. If in May the air warms up to positive values (+5.4°C), then already in October the average temperature barely exceeds zero, and in November there is a sharp cooling to -10°C. The annual temperature amplitude in the region is quite impressive — the difference between January frosts and July warmth is about 40 degrees, which vividly demonstrates the continental features of the climate of this part of the country.

Precipitation

Precipitation in Beloyarsky is distributed fairly evenly throughout the year in terms of frequency, but its character changes radically depending on the season. Given the severe climate of the region, snow predominates for a significant part of the year. From November to March, when average daily temperatures drop deep below zero, precipitation falls exclusively in the form of snow. Despite the fact that the total volume of moisture in millimetres is small in winter, snowfalls occur regularly, from 6 to 12 days a month.

The greatest number of days with precipitation falls on transitional periods and the beginning of the warm season. May and October are statistically the "wettest" months: the sky can be covered with clouds for up to 14 days a month. At this time, as well as in summer, precipitation falls in the form of rain or, on cold days of the off-season, wet snow.

Summer in the city is also not without rain, although in July, the warmest month, the number of wet days decreases to 9, which makes the middle of summer a relatively comfortable time for a visit. The driest month of the year is considered February, when the minimum number of days with precipitation is recorded (about 6). Travelers should be prepared for the fact that light drizzle or short-term rain is possible in almost any summer month.

What to Pack

Since the climate in Beloyarsky is quite severe, the contents of your suitcase will depend directly on the time of year. For the long winter, which actually lasts here from November to March, high-quality insulation is critically important. Be sure to take thermal underwear, woollen sweaters, and a windproof down jacket or parka designed for frosts below -20°C. Insulated shoes with non-slip soles, a warm hat, a scarf, and mittens will become your main allies during walks.

Summer in this region is cool and short, although in July the air can warm up to a comfortable +22°C. During this period, the principle of layering works best: light, modest clothing should be supplemented with a fleece jacket and a windbreaker in case of cool evenings or wind. Given that even in the warm months statistics show regular "wet days", waterproof shoes and a compact umbrella or raincoat will be very useful. We also recommend bringing repellents if you plan trips to nature.

Regardless of the season, give preference to comfortable and practical clothing. In winter, the bright sun reflecting off the snow can dazzle the eyes, so sunglasses are an important accessory even in the frost. In addition, due to the wind and low temperatures, you should take care of protecting exposed areas of the body and bring a nourishing cream for the face and hands, as well as lip balm.
