Anyone visiting Irkutsk has the chance to step onto the same "film set" as the legends of Soviet cinema. Right in the city center, in Russia, stands a unique bronze composition dedicated to the outstanding comedy director Leonid Gaidai.

The monument is a large-scale sculptural group: Leonid Gaidai himself is captured in the process of working, sitting in a director's chair, while the famous scene from the movie "Kidnapping, Caucasian Style" unfolds before him. Opposite the master stand the iconic characters—the Coward, the Dunce, and the Experienced—attempting to stop an invisible car. Next to the director, the figure of a loyal dog adds a special sense of coziness and life to the composition.
This monument is not just a static statue, but an interactive space. The figures are life-sized (the actors) and even slightly larger (the director reaches 3.4 meters in height), creating an immersive atmosphere of filmmaking. The total weight of this impressive bronze installation exceeds 5 tons, and it is rightfully considered one of the city's kindest and most recognizable landmarks.
