How to get to Kemerovo

Kemerovo is the industrial capital of Kuzbass, situated on the banks of the Tom River in Western Siberia. Combining industrial power with warm Siberian hospitality, the city offers travellers convenient transport accessibility thanks to its own airport and a developed road network. You can get here by a direct flight, by railway, or by car, enjoying picturesque taiga landscapes along the way.

The fastest way to reach the capital of Kuzbass is by air. The International Airport Kemerovo (KEJ) receives regular flights and is located just a few kilometres from the city centre, making arrival extremely convenient.

If direct tickets are unavailable, travellers often choose to fly to neighbouring major cities. The nearest alternative airports are located in Tomsk (145 km), Novokuznetsk (189 km), and Novosibirsk (206 km), from where the journey can be continued via ground transport.

Rail connections link Kemerovo with other regions of the country, and trains arrive at the Kemerovo-Passazhirskaya station. Direct trains operate here, including a premium train from the capital; however, it is worth noting that the city is located on a branch of the Trans-Siberian Railway, so travel time may be longer compared to travelling to major junction stations.

Travelling by car provides maximum flexibility and allows you to plan your route independently. The journey from Tomsk will take about 2.8 hours, covering a distance of approximately 213 km. If you are departing from Novokuznetsk, the 221 km road will require around 2.6 hours.

The route from the largest neighbouring metropolis, Novosibirsk, is about 269 km long and takes on average 3.7 hours. The road network in the region is well-developed, and for those who do not plan to drive themselves, intercity taxi services are available.
