The Dodo Pizza chain, which has one of its establishments in Nevinnomyssk, has an interesting origin story that began not in a major metropolis, but in Syktyvkar. It was there that entrepreneur Fyodor Ovchinnikov decided to bring his idea to life in the spring of 2011. He rented a small space and opened a pizzeria that initially operated exclusively as a delivery service. Despite the modest start and an initial investment of 1.3 million rubles, the establishment's turnover reached an impressive mark of 1 million rubles monthly by the end of its first year.
The key to the business's rapid development and scaling was not only high-quality products but also an innovative approach to management. By the spring of 2012, after refining all internal processes, the company launched its franchising program. The foundation of the Dodo Pizza franchise was its own proprietary development—a cloud-based ERP system called Dodo IS. This system allows for the centralized coordination of all aspects of each pizzeria's activities: from order taking and kitchen operations to delivery logistics, advertising campaigns, and general management. This high-tech approach has become one of the brand's hallmarks.
Another interesting fact is that Fyodor Ovchinnikov raised the initial funds for Dodo Pizza's development in a very non-traditional way—through his blog, "Sila Uma" (Power of Mind). For many years, he openly shared his business successes and mistakes with his followers. This transparency built trust with the audience, and some blog readers not only invested in the project but later became franchisees themselves. This demonstrates how openness and honesty can contribute to business success.
Dodo Pizza completed its first year with just one location and a revenue of 7.4 million rubles. This success became the jumping-off point for rapid growth. As of November 2017, the chain already consisted of 13 corporate pizzerias and 239 franchised locations. Today, Dodo Pizza continues to grow actively, expanding its presence in many cities across Russia, including Nevinnomyssk, and even entering international markets, proving the effectiveness of its business model and the demand for its product.
