Theater Square is one of the key and most recognizable squares in the city of Ryazan, located in Russia. It is not just a transport artery but also an important cultural, architectural, and social center that attracts both locals and visitors for leisure and events.

The square gets its name from the centerpiece of this space—the Ryazan State Regional Drama Theater. The theater building, constructed in 1961, is a striking example of Soviet architecture and serves as the region's main stage, largely defining the modern look of the square.
Interestingly, the history of this place dates back to when it was called Yamskaya Square and was located on the outskirts of provincial Ryazan in the Yamskaya Sloboda. In the 18th century, the city effectively ended here and the Astrakhan Highway began, while the territory itself was known as Yamskaya Zastava. The square began to take on its modern look after a large-scale reconstruction that started in 1956, when the outpost's boundary markers were removed, followed by the grand opening of the drama theater in 1961.
Today, Theater Square is a popular spot for walks, meetings, and city holidays and festivals. It embodies the combination of Ryazan's history and modern life, remaining one of its symbols and a favorite corner for citizens and tourists alike.
