In the heart of the city of Kaluga lies a magnificent architectural ensemble, rightfully considered one of the most beautiful in Russia. Gostinye Ryady is a unique complex of buildings from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, occupying an entire block on the historic Stary Torg Square. It is a closed square consisting of 14 buildings connected by elegant arches and galleries.

The main feature of this place is its unusual architecture, which harmoniously blends elements of Russian Gothic, Romanesque style, and Old Russian architectural motifs. Walking along the facades, one can notice the characteristic pot-bellied columns on the gates and delicate white-stone decorations, which lend a sense of lightness and elegance to the monumental structure. Several generations of masters worked on this masterpiece, including the famous architect Pyotr Nikitin.
Today, this federal cultural heritage site is a true hallmark of the city. After meticulous restoration, Gostinye Ryady has not only preserved its historic appearance but has also become an important cultural center where antiquity meets modern urban life.
