In addition to the tracks, the infrastructure includes an administrative building with comfortable locker rooms, a gym, a football field with artificial turf, and stands capable of seating up to 450 spectators.

This place is highly rated among visitors thanks to its well-maintained grounds and professional approach to course preparation. Zorky regularly hosts major competitions, including international starts, confirming its high status in the sporting world.

What to Do

The main focus for visitors is, of course, cross-country skiing. You can test your strength on the main five-kilometer track, which is kept in perfect condition thanks to modern machinery. For those who prefer longer outings, the famous "people's track" in the Krasnogorsk forest is available, stretching up to 20 kilometers. It is an excellent place for quiet contemplation of winter nature and improving your health.

During the warmer months, the base remains active: roller skiing is popular here. The flat sections of the track are safe even for young athletes and the elderly, making the complex a wonderful choice for active family leisure. Additionally, the grounds feature a football pitch with an artificial surface and a modern outdoor workout area for a full-body workout in the fresh air.

For those who want to take sports more seriously, the base hosts sections of the Olympic Reserve sports school. Even if you come simply as a spectator, you can sit in the stands and watch exciting competitions or the training process. The atmosphere of sports community and support, created by volunteers and local residents, makes a stay here truly inspiring.

Getting There

Getting to this sports facility from the center of Moscow is quite simple. If you prefer to drive, follow the Volokolamskoe Highway or the M-9 "Baltiya" highway toward Krasnogorsk. The distance from the MKAD is about 20–30 km, and travel time usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking for visitors is available on the grounds.

For those choosing public transport, a convenient option is the suburban train (MCD-2). You need to reach the Pavshino or Krasnogorskaya station. From there, you can take bus No. 21 or 29 to the "Ulitsa Rechnaya" stop, followed by a 10–15 minute walk.

You can also use shuttle buses (marshrutkas) that depart from the Tushinskaya or Skhodnenskaya metro stations. If you value comfort and speed, you can always order a taxi directly to the entrance of the ski stadium by providing the exact address: 37 Rechnaya St.

History & Facts

The history of this place is closely intertwined with the sports traditions of the Moscow region. Even in the pre-war years, workers from the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant built the stadium with their own hands; at the time, it was named "Trud" (Labor). In 1966, the facility underwent a major reconstruction and was renamed "Zorky" — in honor of the famous camera brand produced at the local plant.

The ski base itself was modernized in 1986, and the ski stadium took on its current appearance in 2006. The process of building the new infrastructure and the artificial snowmaking system took more than four years, turning an ordinary track into an international-level facility. A major milestone in the base's history was the Masters World Cup in cross-country skiing, held here in the opening year of the renovated stadium.

It is noteworthy that the legendary ski track in the Krasnogorsk forest has existed for over half a century. Its preservation and development are largely thanks to enthusiasts and volunteers, such as USSR Master of Sports Sergey Borisovich Kondratkov. Thanks to their efforts, the so-called "people's track", spanning about 20 kilometers, is still maintained today, attracting thousands of skiing enthusiasts every winter.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the atmosphere and opportunities of this place, it is recommended that the average visitor set aside 2 to 4 hours. This is plenty of time for a leisurely ski on the main track, preparing your gear, and a short rest after physical activity. If you plan to visit the gym or spend time in the stands watching professionals train, you should aim for the upper end of this range.

On days when major sporting events or competitions are held, a visit can last half a day. Given the developed infrastructure with locker rooms and resting areas, staying here will be comfortable even for those who decide to devote all their free time to sports. The main thing is not to forget about travel time, especially if you are coming from remote areas of the capital.
