Zanderij Airport is the base for the national carrier Surinam Airways and the airline Fly All Ways. One of its notable features is the runway, which is nearly 3.5 kilometres long, making it one of the longest in the Caribbean region. This allows the airport to accommodate even the largest aircraft, highlighting its strategic importance. Despite its relatively small size, the airport offers passengers all necessary services, including cafes, duty-free shops, and car rentals. Currently, there are plans to expand the terminal to ensure even greater comfort for the growing number of travellers.
