What to Do

The main draw for visitors is undoubtedly the Wisconsin Herd home games. The atmosphere in the stands during matches is electric, making a visit to the arena a great choice for a family outing or a trip with friends. Beyond sports, the venue regularly hosts performances by famous comedians, boxing matches, and even professional wrestling shows.

Music lovers should keep an eye on the schedule: Oshkosh Arena is considered one of the city's premier concert venues, hosting performers across various genres. The interior is designed to ensure excellent visibility and sound from any point, whether in the main Arena Bowl or the VIP areas.

For those looking for a venue for their own event, the arena offers space rental services. It can accommodate everything from corporate parties and weddings to large-scale tournaments. Its convenient downtown location allows guests to easily combine attending an event with visits to Oshkosh's top restaurants and hotels.

Getting There

Reaching this multipurpose complex is easy, as it is conveniently located at 1212 S Main St, right in the heart of the city. If you are traveling by car, follow South Main Street — the primary route to the venue through a scenic district near Lake Winnebago.

For those who prefer public transport, buses from the Oshkosh Transit System stop nearby. Tourists staying at local hotels often choose to reach the arena on foot or by taxi, enjoying the atmosphere of the developing Sawdust District.

If you are arriving from further away, the nearest major air hub is Appleton International Airport (ATW), which is just about a 25-minute drive. Parking areas for visitors are provided at the arena and in the surrounding vicinity.

History & Facts

The history of this venue began relatively recently, but it is full of ambitious decisions. Construction began in March 2017 on the site of the once-famous Buckstaff furniture factory. The $15 million project was entirely privately funded, marking a significant step for the regional economy.

Interestingly, the venue was originally named the Menominee Nation Arena. The naming rights were purchased by the Menominee Indian Tribe; however, in 2021, due to structural changes and the impact of the pandemic, the agreement was terminated, and the arena received its current concise name. The basketball team's first official game was held here in December 2017.

The choice of location for the Wisconsin Herd was the result of stiff competition from other cities in the state. Ultimately, this project became a catalyst for the development of the lakefront infrastructure, transforming an old industrial zone into a modern hub for thousands of fans and tourists.

Time Needed

The amount of time you should set aside for a visit depends entirely on your plans. If you are attending a basketball game or a concert, we recommend scheduling about 2–3 hours. This is plenty of time to go through security, find your seats, enjoy the main event, and check out the concessions or the gift shop during breaks.

For those interested in space rentals or organizing private events, a visit can range from one hour (for a site tour) to a full day. In any case, the arena's convenient location makes it easy to pair your visit with lunch at a nearby restaurant or a stroll along the waterfront.

The administration and ticket offices operate on a standard weekday schedule. Please note that during evening games or concerts, access to the building may be extended until the end of the event.
