Balboa Park is the cultural heart and green oasis of San Diego, sprawling across a massive area of nearly 1,200 acres. It is one of the oldest public parks in the USA and is not just a place for walks, but a true center of attraction for everyone interested in art, science, and nature. Its territory is so large that it might take several days to explore all its treasures.

The park is famous for its unique Spanish Colonial Revival architectural ensemble, which took shape after hosting two major expositions in 1915 and 1935. Today, these historic buildings house more than 17 museums, including the Museum of Us, the Natural History Museum, and the Air and Space Museum. Walking along the main boulevard, El Prado, you can admire richly decorated facades, fountains, and picturesque courtyards.
Beyond the museums, Balboa Park offers plenty of other activities. It is home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo, several theaters, and numerous gardens, including the Japanese Friendship Garden and a delightful rose garden. This is a place where you can spend an entire day, moving from studying world art masterpieces to relaxing in nature or attending an open-air organ concert. Due to its cultural and historical significance, the park has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
