HiSky flights and airline information

About

HiSky is a dynamically developing private aviation group that began operations in 2021. The company brings together two divisions: Moldovan and Romanian, allowing it to effectively connect Eastern and Western Europe. The carrier's main hub is located at the international airport in Chisinau, from where both regular and charter flights are operated.

The airline positions itself as a low-cost carrier, offering passengers affordable fares while maintaining high standards of safety and service. Today, HiSky (IATA code: H7) is not part of global aviation alliances, but it is actively developing partnerships and expanding its flight geography, covering more than 20 international destinations.

A key feature of the airline is the use of a modern fleet consisting of narrow-body aircraft from the Airbus A320 and A321 family. This allows the carrier to optimize fuel and maintenance costs, offering customers competitive ticket prices. A flexible fare system allows travelers to choose only the necessary services without overpaying for extra features.

Despite its young age, HiSky has already established itself as a reliable partner in the passenger transportation market. The airline actively invests in staff training and technological solutions, striving to make the booking and flight process as comfortable as possible for every passenger. The unique combination of Moldovan hospitality and European quality standards makes flying with this company a pleasant start to any journey.

Baggage

Since HiSky operates on a low-cost carrier model, baggage rules here are flexible and directly depend on your chosen fare. This means that hand luggage and checked baggage allowances are not fixed for all tickets, but are selected individually during the booking process on the official website.

For carry-on baggage, there are usually weight and dimension limits that allow the bag to be placed in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. The exact parameters (centimeters and kilograms) are displayed in the fare rules when purchasing a ticket. Essential items and portable electronics are allowed in the cabin, while sharp objects and liquids over 100 ml are strictly prohibited.

Checked baggage is also paid for according to the selected service package. The airline offers several weight options (for example, up to 10 kg, 20 kg, or 32 kg), allowing light travelers to save. It is important to remember that paying for baggage in advance on the website is always significantly cheaper than adding this service at the airport check-in desk.

If your suitcase exceeds the established limits, you will have to pay for excess baggage according to the airline's rates. Separate transportation rules apply for special items such as sports equipment (skis, bicycles), musical instruments, or strollers. Most strollers are transported free of charge, but details regarding sports equipment should be clarified in advance.

For a safe and comfortable flight, we recommend carefully packing fragile items and always checking the current fare table on the hisky.aero website before heading to the airport, as rules may vary depending on the flight destination.

Pet Rules

Transportation of animals in the cabin and cargo hold

  • In the aircraft cabin: The airline allows the transportation of small pets (usually cats and dogs) in special soft-sided or hard-sided carriers. The total weight of the animal together with the container is limited.
  • In the baggage compartment: Larger animals can be transported in a heated cargo hold in certified containers that meet IATA standards.

Required Documents

  • Veterinary passport: The animal must have an international passport with records of microchipping and all necessary vaccinations.
  • Vaccination: Rabies vaccination is mandatory and must be administered within the established timeframe before departure.
  • Certificates: Depending on the destination country, additional veterinary certificates may be required.

Costs and Restrictions

  • Fares: Pet transportation is a paid service, the cost of which depends on the route and the method of transport (cabin or baggage).
  • Breed restrictions: For brachycephalic dog breeds (with flat faces, such as pugs or bulldogs), special restrictions may apply due to health risks during the flight.
  • Seasonal rules: During periods of extreme heat or cold, transportation in the baggage compartment may be restricted.

Before planning a trip with a pet, be sure to contact HiSky to clarify current rules, the availability of quotas on a specific flight, and to pre-book the service.

Loyalty Program

HiSky Loyalty Program

At the moment, HiSky positions itself as a budget carrier and does not offer a classic loyalty program with the accumulation of miles or points for flights.

Service Features

  • Lack of a mileage program: There is no data in open sources regarding the existence of a Frequent Flyer system for earning bonuses.
  • Fare policy: Instead of accumulating miles, the airline focuses on providing the lowest possible base prices and the option to choose additional paid services.
  • Promotions and special offers: Passengers can benefit by tracking seasonal sales and promo codes on the official website.
  • Alliance participation: The airline is not a member of global aviation alliances, so the privileges of other loyalty programs do not apply to its flights.

If the airline launches its own bonus system or a club for frequent flyers in the future, information about this will be published on the official hisky.aero website. Passengers are encouraged to subscribe to the carrier's newsletter to be the first to know about new opportunities and discounts.

Services

Service on board HiSky is organized according to the classic principles of the low-cost model, where the main focus is on safety and efficiency. Passengers are offered travel in economy class, and the level of comfort and the range of included services are determined by the fare selected at the time of purchase. Depending on the ticket category, travelers receive varying degrees of flexibility regarding refunds, date changes, and baggage allowance.

The cabin configuration of the Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft provides standard seat pitch for narrow-body liners. Food and drinks on board are usually provided for an additional fee. Passengers can choose items from the menu (if available) or pre-order special services during the online booking process. Individual entertainment systems and Wi-Fi are often absent in the basic configuration of a low-cost fleet, so it is recommended to take care of leisure during the flight in advance.

The airline also pays attention to special categories of passengers. Services for unaccompanied minors are provided, as well as assistance for persons with reduced mobility. Families with children are offered standard conditions for transporting strollers and cradles (subject to technical capability). To obtain current information about specific services on your flight, it is recommended to use the booking system on the carrier's official website.

Destinations

The airline HiSky is actively expanding its flight map, offering passengers convenient connections between cities in Europe and the Middle East. The carrier's main hub is located at the international airport of Chisinau, making it an important transportation hub for the region.

The route network includes popular tourist and business centers such as Istanbul, London, and Milan. In addition, the airline operates regular flights to Antalya, Tel Aviv, and to popular resorts in Egypt — Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.

Booking Tips

In order to book a ticket for HiSky flights at the best price, it is recommended to plan your trip in advance and use the official website hisky.aero. Like most low-cost carriers, ticket prices tend to rise as the departure date approaches, so purchasing several months before travel is the best way to save.

During the booking process, pay attention to the fare choice. The cheapest options are usually limited in terms of refund and data change rights. If you are traveling with a promo code, enter it in the special field before starting the flight search. Also remember that selecting a specific seat in the cabin is often a paid service; if it doesn't matter to you where you sit, the system will assign seats for free in a random order during check-in.

Online check-in is a mandatory step that helps avoid extra queues at the airport. It opens on the website a certain time before departure, and we recommend completing it as early as possible. Regarding insurance, it is always useful to have a valid travel policy covering possible flight delays or medical expenses, as low-cost fares do not always include extended support in unforeseen situations.

Follow the airline's official social media pages to avoid missing short-term promotions and discounts. All the most relevant information about fares, refund conditions, and check-in rules is always available from the primary source — on the airline's website.

History

The history of HiSky began in September 2019, when the legal entity HiSky Europe SRL was registered in Romania. The company's founders set an ambitious goal — to create a flexible and efficient low-cost carrier capable of competing in the saturated Eastern European aviation market. The entire year of 2020 was spent in preparation: the company received Air Operator Certificates in Moldova and Romania, formed a team, and prepared infrastructure.

The official start of commercial flights took place on February 22, 2021. Despite the global challenges for the aviation industry during this period, HiSky managed to quickly find its niche. The airline began by operating flights from Romania and Moldova, gradually expanding its network to key European capitals and popular resort destinations. The main operational base was established in the city of Chisinau.

The company's fleet developed gradually, based on reliable and time-tested Airbus A320 and A321 liners. This allowed for a high frequency of departures and punctuality, which is critical for a low-cost model. Over time, the group's structure became more complex, distinguishing two main operators — HiSky SRL in Moldova (IATA: H7) and HiSky Europe SRL in Romania (IATA: H4).

Today, HiSky continues to expand its flight geography, implementing modern service standards while maintaining affordable flights for a wide range of passengers. In a short time, the company has grown from an ambitious startup into a prominent player in the regional market, transporting hundreds of thousands of travelers annually and opening new horizons for residents of Moldova and Romania.
