Arena da Amazônia is not just a football stadium, but a true architectural gem located in the city of Manaus, in the heart of the Brazilian rainforest. This modern complex was built on the site of the old Vivaldão stadium specifically for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and has since become one of the most recognizable landmarks in the region.

The stadium's design, developed by the German company GMP Architekten, is inspired by motifs of Amazonian nature, making its appearance truly unique. Its metal structure, resembling a woven basket—a traditional household item in the region—blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The roof and facade panels are made of translucent fiberglass, protecting spectators from the sun and tropical downpours.
Special attention was paid to sustainability during the design process. Arena da Amazônia is equipped with a rainwater harvesting system for further use, such as in restrooms, and part of the energy supply is provided by solar panels. The stadium accommodates over 42,000 spectators and is one of the first in the world to receive LEED green building certification. Today, it is an important hub for sporting and cultural events in the region.
