When packing for Castro, it is important to consider the moderate climate of this region, which differs from the tropical heat of the northern part of Brazil. If your journey falls during the summer period (from December to March), expect pleasant warm weather with daytime temperatures around 25°C. However, this time of year is characterised by frequent rainfall — it can rain for more than 20 days a month. Therefore, in addition to light clothing made from natural fabrics, be sure to put a reliable umbrella or a high-quality raincoat, as well as quick-drying shoes, in your suitcase.

The winter months (from June to August) are quite cool here, especially in the evenings and at night, when the thermometer can drop to 10–11°C. In this season, the principle of layering works best: take jeans, long-sleeved T-shirts, a warm sweater or fleece jacket, and a windbreaker with you. Although there are significantly fewer rainy days in winter, closed and comfortable walking shoes will be much more practical than open sandals.

Regardless of the season, do not forget about sun protection: SPF cream and sunglasses will be useful even in cloudy weather.
