Pomerode Zoo is one of the oldest and largest zoos in Brazil, located in the charming city of Pomerode. Founded in 1932, it has become not just a popular attraction, but an important conservation and educational center in the state of Santa Catarina, attracting many tourists and locals alike.
The zoo's grounds are a beautifully maintained space with shaded alleys and picturesque ponds, making a walk here particularly pleasant. Comfortable conditions have been created for the inhabitants, mimicking their natural environment as closely as possible, which makes observing them truly fascinating. Many animals were rescued from abuse or the consequences of accidents and have found a safe home in the zoo.

The animal collection is impressive in its diversity: it is home to over 1,000 animals representing about 240 species. Visitors can see representatives of Brazilian fauna, such as jaguars and tapirs, as well as exotic animals from around the world, including lions, elephants, and bears. Consequently, Pomerode Zoo plays a key role in the conservation of endangered species and environmental education.
