Despite the stable temperature, two main seasons can be distinguished in Brazzaville, defined by the amount of rainfall. The drier dry season usually falls in June, July, and August, when the number of rainy days and precipitation is minimal, especially in July. The rainy season lasts from September to May, reaching its peak in terms of rainfall and rainy days in October and November, as well as in March and April. During these months, the air becomes particularly humid, and downpours, although often short-lived, can be quite intense.

Thus, when planning a trip to Brazzaville, it is worth considering that consistently warm weather awaits you. The main difference throughout the year lies in the humidity level and the likelihood of rain. If you prefer less precipitation, the middle of the year (June-August) would be a more suitable time, whereas the other months are characterised by a higher probability of tropical showers that refresh the hot air.

The temperature regime in Brazzaville is characterised by constant heat throughout the year, although there are some nuances depending on the month. Average annual temperatures fluctuate within a narrow range, predominantly from 26°C to 28°C. The hottest month is usually February, when the average temperature reaches 27.7°C, and daytime highs can rise to 32.3°C. Nights during this period are also very warm, with minimum temperatures around 23.1°C. The "coolest" month is considered to be July: the average temperature is 26.0°C, daytime highs hover around 30.0°C, and nightly lows drop to 21.9°C, bringing relative relief.

The period from January to April, as well as December, can be described as the most sweltering. During these months, the daytime air temperature consistently stays above 30-31°C (for example, up to 31.5°C in January, and up to 32.2°C in March), while nights remain warm, with temperatures rarely dropping below 22.5-23°C. From June to August, a slight decrease in temperatures is observed. During the day, the air warms up to an average of 30°C, and nights become noticeably fresher, especially in July and August, when the thermometer can drop to 21.9-22.1°C. September, October, and November also show average temperatures around 26°C, but with slightly warmer nights (around 22.1-22.2°C) compared to the middle of the year.

A remarkable feature of Brazzaville's climate is the fairly stable diurnal temperature fluctuations. The difference between daytime highs and nightly lows throughout the year averages 8-9°C. This means that even in the hottest months, evenings and early morning hours bring tangible coolness compared to the daytime heat. Thus, although Brazzaville is a city of eternal summer, small temperature variations throughout the year and day allow one to experience different shades of tropical warmth.

Although the city is located in a tropical climate zone with constant humidity, the intensity and frequency of rains change noticeably from month to month. Snow is uncharacteristic for Brazzaville; all precipitation falls in the form of rain.

The driest period in Brazzaville is the middle of the year. July stands out in particular, considered the driest month: on average, only 1 mm of precipitation falls, and the number of rainy days drops to 9. June and August are also characterised by a comparatively small amount of precipitation (about 2 mm) and fewer rainy days compared to other periods of the year – approximately 15 and 16 days respectively.

The wet season in Brazzaville has two distinct peaks. The first, less intense, falls on the spring months – March and April, when 4-5 mm of precipitation falls, and it rains for about 20-21 days per month. The main peak of rains is observed in autumn. October is the wettest month of the year: rainfall reaches 7 mm, and there are up to 28 rainy days, which means precipitation occurs practically daily. September and November are also very rainy, with 5-6 mm of precipitation and 23-24 rainy days respectively. During these periods, rains can be frequent, refreshing the tropical air.

When packing your suitcase for a trip to Brazzaville, prepare for the consistently warm and humid weather that reigns here all year round. The basis of your wardrobe should be light, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics, such as cotton or linen. Do not forget comfortable shoes for long walks around the city. Essential companions on your journey will be sunscreen with high SPF, sunglasses, and headwear (such as a wide-brimmed hat) for reliable protection from the active tropical sun.
