Avarua is the colorful capital of the Cook Islands, situated on the northern coast of the picturesque island of Rarotonga in the Pacific Ocean. The only way to reach this tropical corner from abroad is by air travel. All flights arrive at the international Rarotonga Airport (RAR), which connects the island with major hubs in New Zealand, Australia, and the USA.

The air gateway is located just a few kilometers from the city center, making arrival extremely convenient. Thanks to regular air connections, planning a route to Avarua is quite simple, despite the remoteness of the archipelago.

There is a complete absence of railway infrastructure in the city of Avarua and throughout the island of Rarotonga. Due to the terrain features and the small territory, rail tracks were never laid here.
