Two main seasons can be distinguished on the island during the year, differing not so much in temperature as in the amount of precipitation. The dry season lasts roughly from January to April: during this time, the number of rainy days is minimal (from 7 to 10 per month), which is ideal for lovers of cloudless skies. Starting from May through October, humidity rises, and the number of days with precipitation increases, reaching a peak in October.

A characteristic feature of the weather on Cayo Coco is the high stability of the temperature regime. There are no sharp fluctuations here, which makes acclimatisation easy for tourists. Even in the "wet" season, rains are often short-lived and are quickly replaced by bright sunshine, so the island remains an attractive destination for holidays at any time of the year.

The climate on Cayo Coco is distinguished by enviable stability and warmth all year round, making this resort an ideal place for a beach holiday regardless of the season. The average annual temperature fluctuates within a very comfortable range, not dropping to extremely low values and rarely exceeding the threshold of unbearable heat. January is traditionally considered the "coolest" month with an average figure of about 24.1°C, while the peak of heat falls on August, when the air warms up to an average of 28.7°C. Thanks to such a mild climate, the concept of a harsh winter is practically non-existent here.

The summer season, which actually lasts from May to October on the island, is characterised by consistently hot weather. In the warmest months — July, August, and September — the average temperature holds at the level of 28.5°C — 28.7°C, and maximum daily values often approach 30°C. This time is ideal for those who love true tropical heat and warm water. Despite the high temperatures, the proximity of the ocean helps to tolerate the heat more easily, making staying on the beach comfortable.

The winter period in Cuba is perceived more like a pleasant, mild summer. From December to March, the average temperature is about 24–25°C, which creates excellent conditions for excursions and a relaxing holiday without the risk of overheating. A remarkable feature of the temperature regime of Cayo Coco is the surprisingly small amplitude of fluctuations between day and night figures: the difference between the average minimum and maximum is often only 1–2 degrees. This means that even after sunset, the air remains warm, and tourists are unlikely to need warm clothes for evening walks.

Precipitation on Cayo Coco is distributed unevenly throughout the year, forming distinct dry and wet seasons. The most favourable time for those who prefer clear skies is the period from February to April. During these months, the lowest number of rainy days is recorded (on average from 7 to 9), and the volume of rainfall is minimal, which guarantees excellent conditions for a beach holiday.

Starting from May, the frequency of rains noticeably increases, reaching 19 wet days per month. The summer and autumn months are characterised by higher humidity. The peak of the rainy season falls on October, when statistics show about 23 days with precipitation, and September (20 days). At this time, rains become a common occurrence.

It is important to note that even in the rainy season, precipitation in Cuba often takes the form of short-lived tropical downpours, after which the sun quickly comes out. Since the air temperature remains comfortable all year round, warm rains rarely become a serious hindrance to a holiday and often bring only pleasant freshness.

Since the temperature on Cayo Coco rarely drops below 24°C during the year, the basis of your suitcase should be light summer clothing made from natural fabrics such as cotton or linen. Given the active Caribbean sun, UV protection is a priority: be sure to take a cream with a high SPF factor, quality sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat to protect yourself from heatstroke on the beach.

Evenings on the island can be refreshing due to the sea breeze, especially in the winter months (January-February), so it is worth packing a light cardigan, windbreaker, or long-sleeved shirt. Such clothing will also come in handy for protection against mosquitoes, which can be active at dusk near mangrove thickets, so do not forget repellents as well.

If your trip falls during the period from May to October, consider that the number of rainy days increases. However, tropical downpours are usually short-lived, so a compact umbrella or a light raincoat will be quite sufficient. As for footwear, universal beach sandals are mandatory, as well as comfortable trainers if you plan to go on excursions outside the hotel.
