Created in the 12th century at the initiative of Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, the lake still retains its charm today. Its shores are adorned with elegant marble pavilions known as Baradari, built by order of Emperor Shah Jahan, as well as the well-maintained Daulat Bagh gardens, laid out by Emperor Jahangir. These architectural and natural elements make the lake a popular spot for leisurely walks, relaxation, and enjoying the beauty.
The lake is large enough to create a sense of space and tranquility. The sky and the surrounding Aravalli hills reflect beautifully in its waters, creating mesmerizing landscapes, especially at sunrise and sunset. Lake Ana Sagar is not just a body of water, but a place where history harmoniously blends with natural beauty, offering visitors a chance to escape the city bustle and touch the rich heritage of Ajmer.
