Surabaya Zoo (Kebun Binatang Surabaya) is one of the main and oldest attractions in the city of Surabaya and one of the largest zoological parks in all of Indonesia. The zoo's collection is impressive in its diversity: it is home to over 3,500 animals representing more than 200 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish. The zoo takes particular pride in rare and endemic species of Indonesian fauna. It is here that visitors have the unique opportunity to see the famous Komodo dragons, also known as "Varanus komodoensis."
In addition to the dragons, in spacious enclosures, you can observe the lives of orangutans, Sumatran tigers, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, and many other exotic animals. The zoo also plays an important role in the conservation of endangered species, participating in breeding programs. A walk through the park's shady alleys will be a pleasure for both adults and children, offering a break from the city's hustle and bustle and a closer look at the amazing animal world.
