Your journey into the world of contemporary creativity in Venlo begins right here. The Museum van Bommel van Dam is the first and leading venue for contemporary art in the province of Limburg, located in the vibrant Netherlands. The museum's foundation was the extensive private collection of Maarten and Reina van Bommel van Dam, who gifted over a thousand works reflecting the spirit of the post-war era to the city.

Today, the museum's collection is impressive in scale, featuring more than 14,000 exhibits. It showcases not only painting and sculpture but also modern design and complex multimedia installations. Particular emphasis is placed on Dutch art from the 1950s onwards, including works by the legendary CoBrA movement and experimental realism.
The museum is housed in a former post office that has been masterfully renovated to become a spacious and light-filled home for art. Its minimalist interior perfectly highlights the vibrancy of the exhibited works, giving visitors a sense of connection to the living history of creativity. This place is famous for its friendly, almost home-like atmosphere, where every guest can feel like an explorer of beauty.
