History & Facts

The history of this place is inextricably linked with the development of the city's northwestern outskirts in the 19th century. In 1892, the Hospital Garden was established on this territory. Interestingly, its creation had a noble purpose: to provide work and livelihoods for people affected by the severe famine of 1891. Initially, the garden was triangular and planted with black and white poplars, as well as elms.

Over time, the green zone expanded. On maps from the early 20th century, the area was mentioned as the Poplar Grove and the Nursery, and in 1926, it received a revolutionary name — Communards Garden. The official founding date of the park in its current status is considered to be 1935, when it was solemnly named after V.I. Lenin. Since then, the park has become an important cultural and recreational site of the Soviet period.

The monument to V.I. Lenin, installed here in 1925, deserves special attention. This was the first monument to the leader in the city of Orenburg. It is still located in the central part of the square, serving not only as a historical artifact but also as an important compositional center of the entire park ensemble, reminding us of iconic events in the country's life in the first half of the 20th century.

Time Needed

To leisurely walk around the entire territory and see the main monuments, an average visitor will need about 30 to 60 minutes. This time is quite enough to enjoy the silence, take a few photos by the historical monument, and appreciate the variety of centuries-old trees.

If you are planning a full family outing or want to read a book in the shade of the elms, you can stay in the park longer. Thanks to its location in the city center, a visit here is easy to combine with seeing other attractions or walking along Parkovy Avenue.

Working Hours

One of the main advantages of this place is its accessibility. V.I. Lenin Railway Park is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can come here for an early morning jog or enjoy an evening stroll under the lanterns — the park is always ready to welcome guests.

Despite being open 24/7, before visiting any special events that might be held on the grounds, it is recommended to check information on city portals. On regular days, there are no restrictions on visiting hours.
