History & Facts

The history of this place began back in 1840 when the Military Garden (Voyskovoy Sad) was established. Initially, fruit trees were primarily grown here, and just three years later, official documents confirmed the successful development of this green space in Uralsk.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the garden became a favorite spot for the local intelligentsia and a place to host distinguished guests. At various times, prominent figures such as the singer Fyodor Chaliapin, ethnographer Vladimir Dal, and even Tsesarevich Alexander strolled along its paths. This underscores the park's high status as a cultural center for the region.

Historical events did not bypass the park: during the Civil War, the city's defense line passed through here. In the Soviet era, the territory received its current name in honor of Sergey Kirov and was significantly improved. It was then that the famous dance floor, a parachute tower, and the first amusement rides appeared, transforming the garden into a modern park of culture and leisure.

Time Needed

To leisurely stroll through all the alleys, enjoy the quiet by the river, and see the historical monuments, visitors typically need 1.5 to 3 hours. This is quite enough for a basic introduction to the area.

If you plan to enjoy the amusement rides, visit a local cafe, or arrange a full photo session against the backdrop of ancient trees, you could easily spend half a day in the park. The territory is perfect for a long and relaxed family outing.
