The main highlight of this location is the unique Fairytale Alley, where characters from Russian folk tales and beloved cartoons "come to life." Walking along the neat paved paths, visitors can encounter characters from the tale "The Twelve Months" and other magical creatures created by talented local artisans. This transforms an ordinary walk into a real adventure for children and a pleasant nostalgic journey for adults.

The park's infrastructure is thoughtfully designed: there are shaded gazebos to hide from the summer heat, comfortable benches for resting, and several cafes where you can enjoy a cup of tea or a snack. In addition to natural beauty and sculptures, the park is interesting for its historical neighbors—old buildings that recall the rich past of this city block.

Those who prefer a more contemplative experience should definitely take a walk through Fairytale Alley. The detailed figures of fairytale characters provide the perfect backdrop for vibrant photos. You can end your walk with a cozy meal at the "Stary Zamok" (Old Castle) cafe or quick snacks at the food stalls located on the grounds. The park is also great for small family picnics in the gazebos or simply watching the changing seasons, as great attention is paid here to landscaping and landscape design.

History & Facts

The official opening of the Children's Park took place in 1983. The area on Leningradskaya Street chosen for its creation was previously a green zone adjacent to private housing. With the arrival of the first rides, such as the "Krug Obozreniya" (Ferris wheel) and "Romashka" (Daisy), this place quickly became the city's main hub for family leisure.

The park's location is steeped in history: until the 1930s, the Theological (Bogoslovskaya) Church stood here. Although the church itself was lost, the buildings of the almshouse and the parish school have survived. The latter is an architectural monument and has been included in the register of cultural heritage sites since 1997. Today, Music School No. 1 operates in the former almshouse building, while the park's administration is housed in the former school.

The modern appearance of the park is inextricably linked to the work of local craftswoman Elena Malkova. It is thanks to her talent that the unique Fairytale Alley appeared in the park. In 2024, the open-air exhibition was expanded with new figures from the fairytale "The Twelve Months," continuing to transform an ordinary park area into a true space of folk imagination.

Time Needed

To fully relax and see all the park's sights, it is recommended to set aside about 2–3 hours. This time is enough to leisurely stroll along the paths, take photos with all the characters on Fairytale Alley, and enjoy a few rides.

If you plan to visit on the weekend when holiday concerts take place on the stage, or if you want to stop by a cozy cafe on the grounds, your stay might extend to half a day. The park is perfect for a slow-paced getaway, so there’s definitely no need to rush.

Working Hours

The park grounds are open daily, with main operating hours from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. This allows for both morning walks and evening promenades under the glow of the lanterns.

It is important to remember that the amusement rides operate on their own schedule: the season opens on May 1, and you can enjoy the rides from Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The rides are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Since the operation of the carousels depends on the weather, it is recommended to check the latest information on the city administration's website before your visit.
