In the very center of historic Penza, nestled in Russia, lies a remarkable place — the Meyerhold House-Museum. This is not just a museum in the traditional sense, but a unique memorial complex located in a wooden mansion built in 1881. The building itself is a cultural heritage site that has preserved the spirit of a late 19th-century merchant estate.

Today, this center is recognized as the world's first memorial dedicated to the life and work of the great innovative theater director Vsevolod Meyerhold. Within the walls of the house where the master spent his youth, historic interiors and avant-garde exhibitions harmoniously coexist. Since 2003, the Center for Theater Arts has operated here, combining scientific research with an experimental theater venue.
Visitors are drawn by the opportunity to see authentic documents, manuscripts, and personal belongings of the Meyerhold family. Of particular value is the "Doctor Dapertutto Theater" operating at the museum, where male actors bring Meyerhold's ideas of biomechanics and physical theater to life in an intimate 70-seat hall.
