The fastest and most reliable way to reach this remote corner of the Arctic is by air transport. Sabetta International Airport (SBT) serves as the key air gateway to the settlement, accepting both rotational flights and cargo planes.
The airport boasts modern infrastructure and is capable of handling aircraft of various classes, ensuring a stable connection with major cities in the country. The air harbor is located in immediate proximity to residential and industrial zones, so the transfer to your destination takes minimum time.
There is no direct railway connection to Sabetta, as the settlement is located in a hard-to-reach zone of the Far North. A railway on the Yamal Peninsula does exist (the Obskaya — Bovanenkovo line), but it serves an industrial purpose and does not reach the port directly.
Travelers preferring trains will have to travel to the nearest major railway hubs in other cities of the Russian Federation, and then transfer to air transport or a helicopter to complete the route.

Regular intercity bus routes to Sabetta do not operate due to the lack of year-round public roads connecting the settlement with the rest of the country. The specific geographical location and the harsh climate make bus communication with the mainland impossible.

It is practically impossible to reach Sabetta by private car or taxi. The settlement is not connected to the country's road network via paved highways.
In the winter period, movement along special winter roads is theoretically possible, but this method of travel is available only for prepared all-terrain vehicles and professional drivers servicing industrial facilities, and is categorically unsuitable for tourist trips.
A trip to Sabetta requires serious preparation, as this is not a typical tourist city, but a strategically important industrial facility in the Arctic. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your visit:
Equipment. The climate here is harsh and Arctic. Be sure to bring high-quality thermal underwear, a windproof down jacket, insulated trousers, and thick-soled shoes even in the summer period, as the weather is extremely changeable.
Access Control. Sabetta is a restricted facility. Free entry for tourists is limited here, so ensure you have all necessary permits, passes, and business travel documents in advance.
Alcohol Prohibition. Please respect the strict internal regulations: a total ban on the import and consumption of alcohol applies throughout the settlement territory.
Connectivity. Mobile services from major Russian operators work in the settlement and there is internet access, however, connection speed may depend on weather conditions.
Safety in the Tundra. It is strictly forbidden to leave the settlement territory alone. Wild animals, including polar bears, inhabit the surroundings, presenting a real danger to life.
Finances. The official currency is the Ruble. Local shops and canteens accept bank cards, but it is recommended to carry a small reserve of cash in case of terminal malfunctions.
