Mitchell Park Zoo, also known simply as Mitchell Park, is the only zoo in the city of Durban, located in South Africa. This charming slice of wildlife is situated in the suburb of Morningside, on a hill near the bustling Florida Road, and is rightfully considered a true "secret jungle" in the heart of one of the city's most vibrant areas.

Today, Mitchell Park Zoo specializes in housing various small animals, making it particularly popular for family outings. Visitors can observe graceful blue duikers, nimble small South American monkeys, inquisitive raccoons, and a variety of bird species whose songs fill the air. The pride of the zoo are the Aldabra giant tortoises—among the largest animals living here.
The zoo grounds are beautifully landscaped: lush gardens and bright flower beds create a peaceful atmosphere, making a walk even more enjoyable. It is an excellent place to escape the city bustle, enjoy nature, and discover the wonderful world of animals.
