The city of Tianwei in Taiwan features a warm and humid climate, classified as subtropical. The weather offers comfortable temperatures throughout most of the year, with no extreme cold. Winters are mild, while summers are hot and quite humid, which is typical for this region.

There are several distinct seasons in Tianwei. Winter (December–February) brings mild weather with average temperatures around 17–19°C and minimal rainfall. In spring (March–May), temperatures gradually rise, and the number of rainy days increases, especially towards May. Summer (June–August) is the hottest and most humid period. Average temperatures reach 27–28°C, and these months see the peak of precipitation and the highest number of rainy days. Autumn (September–November) is characterized by a gradual decrease in temperature and humidity, with November being one of the driest months of the year.

The main feature of Tianwei's climate is the pronounced rainy season during the summer months, particularly from June to August. During this time, the number of days with precipitation increases significantly. This means rain can be frequent, though not always heavy. Overall, the weather in Tianwei allows for comfortable travel year-round, but when planning a summer trip, it's worth being prepared for high humidity and frequent showers.

The coolest months are January and December, with average temperatures around 17.5°C and 19.0°C. Minimum nighttime temperatures during these winter months drop to an average of 14.4°C and 16.2°C.

In contrast, winter is mild and relatively dry. From December to February, average temperatures stay within the 17.5°C – 19.0°C range. Daytime temperatures in winter are usually comfortable, around 20.5°C – 21.8°C, while nighttime temperatures drop to 14.4°C – 16.2°C, providing a pleasant coolness.

Throughout the year, Tianwei experiences moderate temperature fluctuations between day and night. During the winter and early spring months (December to April), the difference between the average maximum and average minimum temperatures is more pronounced, ranging from 5.6°C (in December) to 6.8°C (in March). For example, in January, the daytime temperature can reach 20.5°C, while the nighttime temperature can drop to 14.4°C (a 6.1°C difference). In the summer and autumn months (May to November), this difference is slightly smaller, ranging from 5.2°C (in August) to 5.9°C (in November). Packing Tips

To make your trip to Tianwei as comfortable as possible, it is important to plan your wardrobe considering the local subtropical climate, which provides warm weather most of the year. Essential items for any season include comfortable shoes for walking around the city, sunscreen, and a hat for sun protection. The climate in Tianwei is roughly divided into two main seasons: a warmer and more humid period from May to October, and a cooler, drier period from November to April.

From May to October, Tianwei experiences warm and humid weather. Average air temperatures range between 25–28°C, and can rise even higher during the peak of summer. Rainfall increases significantly during this period, especially from June to August, when rain is more frequent and the number of rainy days can exceed 20 per month. Therefore, you should pack light, breathable clothing made of natural fabrics: T-shirts, shorts, skirts, and sundresses. A compact umbrella or a light raincoat will be your reliable companions. Also, don't forget insect repellent, especially if you plan on evening walks.

The period from November to April brings cooler and noticeably drier weather to Tianwei. Average monthly temperatures vary from 17°C to 23°C, with January and February being the coolest months. During this time, layering is the best approach: T-shirts or long-sleeved tops can be paired with a light sweater or fleece, topped with a windbreaker or a light jacket, especially for evening outings. Although there is significantly less rainfall during these months, a small folding umbrella might still come in handy, as even the driest periods see a few rainy days.
