How to get to Kocaeli

Although the small local airport, Cengiz Topel, operates in the province, the number of flights there is limited, so most travellers choose to fly to neighbouring Istanbul. The metropolis's large airports receive flights from all over the world and are located approximately 85 km from the city, allowing for an easy transfer to your destination.

Alternatively, you can consider flying into the cities of Bursa or Eskisehir. However, it is worth noting that the ground portion of the journey from these points will take more time compared to the route from Istanbul.

Rail transport is one of the most comfortable ways to get to Kocaeli, as the High-Speed Train (YHT) line passes through the province's administrative centre (Izmit).
