The Riverside area, where children now play happily among water jets, has deep historical roots. In the distant past, these lands were part of an extensive working plantation known as the Spink Estate. It was named after the owner, James W. Spink, who was the first to sell land plots here, laying the foundation for the settlement's future development.

The area surrounding present-day Atlanta also played an important role in the large-scale historical events of the 19th-century USA. In the summer of 1864, the actions of the famous Atlanta Campaign took place here. This series of events in northwest Georgia marked a turning point in the country's history and significantly influenced the political landscape of the time.

While the modern Riverside Sprayground itself was built relatively recently as part of a program to create a comfortable urban environment, it blends harmoniously into the historical landscape. Today, the site serves as a symbol of the region's peaceful and creative development, having transformed from agricultural land into a popular space for family leisure.

To fully enjoy the water activities, 1–2 hours is usually sufficient. This gives children enough time to try out all the nozzles and cannons while parents relax in the shade.
