A new chapter began in late 2016 when Jaime Thursby, deciding on a career change, teamed up with his brother-in-law Darel Graff to revive the culture of making boiled peanuts, showcasing their products at local markets and breweries.

In 2018, Thursby reached a deal with John Cassimus, the grandson of the dynasty's founder, and purchased the historic building. Rebranded as the Alabama Peanut Co., the shop opened its doors in June 2018. The new owners preserved the most valuable asset—the original 1907 equipment, which still works perfectly today, roasting nuts just as it did a hundred years ago.
