The venue is famous for its approach to production: they brew everything from refreshing lagers to thick, rich stouts and experimental seasonal varieties. The combination of industrial aesthetics and cozy pub charm makes it an ideal spot for both a quiet family dinner and lively gatherings with friends. The outdoor terrace offers an inspiring view of the boats and the harbor, creating the atmosphere of a coastal resort.

Special attention is paid to gastronomy. Unlike typical beer bars, These Guys Brewing focuses on dishes made from local ingredients with a gourmet twist. What to Do

The main ritual for any visitor here is a tasting. Be sure to order a "beer flight," which allows you to try several varieties at once: from hoppy IPAs to the famous Lil Narwitch pumpkin ale in season. The drinks are perfectly paired with items from the upscale pub food menu — for example, signature burgers or premium fish and chips made from the freshest ingredients.

In addition to gastronomic pleasures, there is always something to do at These Guys Brewing. You can choose from a variety of board or card games from the venue's collection to have a fun time with your group. If you're lucky, you'll catch a live music evening, which fills the room with a special energy. Take a close look at the interior: the large wooden bar and industrial lighting create a unique ambiance.

In the warmer months, life moves to the covered terrace and rooftop. This is the best place to watch the slow movement of boats along the Thames River while sipping a cool drink. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for advice — the local bartenders are true experts, and the bar manager is always ready to surprise you with interesting facts about the drinks, including rare types of tequila.

Getting There

The brewery is located at 1 American Wharf Rd in Norwich, right in the picturesque marina on the banks of the Thames River. Getting here by car is quite easy: follow I-395 or RT-2, following the signs for American Wharf. Convenient parking is available for visitors right at the dock.

If you prefer public transport, use the CTtransit buses that run to the Norwich Transport Center. From the transport hub, you can walk to the establishment in about 15–20 minutes, enjoying the views of the historic port, or take a taxi/Uber for a quicker trip.

In the warmer months, a walk or bike ride to the brewery from the city center is a pleasure in itself. The waterfront route offers beautiful views of the river and harbor, making the journey to These Guys Brewing part of your travel adventure.

History & Facts

The history of These Guys Brewing Company began on August 14, 2015, when it opened its doors on Franklin Street, becoming the first craft brewery in Norwich. Interestingly, their first building was constructed back in 1883 and functioned as a saloon for a long time. Rumor has it that spirits were secretly brewed and stored within its walls even during Prohibition, using old grain stalls.

Founders Raymond and Rebecca (Beka) Alberts turned their passion for brewing into a successful business. Beka, the head brewer, honed her craft at the famous WilliBrew, which largely defined the classic and balanced style of the drinks served here. The interior has always combined industrial charm and coziness: tin ceilings and vintage lighting created the atmosphere of a good old-fashioned pub.

A new chapter in the brewery's life began with its move to the American Wharf marina. Although the project had been planned since 2019, implementation was delayed due to the pandemic and reconstruction challenges. Now, the establishment boasts four times the space of its previous location, allowing it to not only host more guests but also expand production for craft beer distribution throughout the state.

Time Needed

To fully appreciate the hospitality and variety at These Guys Brewing, it is recommended to set aside 2–3 hours for your visit. This is plenty of time to slowly explore a beer tasting flight, enjoy a full lunch or dinner, and admire the harbor views from the terrace.
