The Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS) is not just a religious building, but the heart of the Islamic community in Washington State. Located in the city of Redmond, this center is the largest of its kind in the region. Founded in 2006, it brings together more than 7,000 families representing over 50 different countries, creating a unique atmosphere of multicultural unity in the USA.
The approximately 50,000-square-foot facility has an interesting history: it was formerly a technology manufacturing plant. Today, the space has been completely renovated to include a spacious mosque, modern classrooms, a library, a banquet hall, and a professional kitchen. The center serves as a place where spiritual values such as humility, knowledge, and justice intertwine with active social service to the community.
MAPS draws visitors with its openness. It is a dynamic space that welcomes not only Muslims but everyone interested in Islamic culture or seeking opportunities for interfaith dialogue. The center actively develops programs for those in need and educational initiatives, becoming an important cultural and educational hub for the entire Puget Sound region.
