A significant expansion occurred in 1938 thanks to the efforts of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). They purchased and donated an additional 20 acres of land to the city, transforming Harmon Park into the large-scale recreational zone we see today.

For a long time, the park was the center of the region's sporting life. It was home to the city's first swimming pool, and the local baseball field served as the home arena for the Twin Falls Cowboys minor league team. These historical milestones have made the park not just a place for walks, but a true guardian of Idaho's sporting traditions.
